He previously served as Acting Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Treasury, worked as a consultant at Oliver Wyman, and holds a BA from Harvard.

Fernando Gonzalez is a Partner and Head of Global Capital Strategy at QED Investors, where he works across the investment lifecycle from sourcing and capital formation through portfolio growth and liquidity. He came to QED as an Entrepreneur in Residence and founded Coru, an AI-native fintech platform aimed at expanding access to financial services in Latin America, which has since transitioned to new operators. Before QED, he spent more than twenty years across technology, finance, and entrepreneurship, including leading a comScore business unit through its exit to Adobe and helping build MicroStrategy's enterprise analytics business, where he incubated a product later acquired by Facebook. He is also an active angel investor, advisor, and mentor, with expertise spanning fintech infrastructure, AI, enterprise SaaS, and go-to-market strategy.

Frank Rotman is a co-founder of QED Investors, a fintech-focused venture capital firm, where he has served as a partner and Chief Investment Officer and currently holds the title of Partner Emeritus. Before QED, he was one of the early leaders at Capital One, serving as its chief credit officer, which grounded his approach to lending and credit. At QED he has focused on areas including vertical banking and real estate technology, and the firm has backed 200+ companies over roughly 15 years with several billion dollars under management. He is a frequent podcast guest and commentator on market cycles, venture strategy, and the future of financial services.

Gbenga Ajayi is a partner at QED Investors, where he leads the firm's investments across Africa and the Middle East as part of its international team. His career spans fintech and technology roles across Africa, Europe, and the U.S., including six years at Google managing telecom partnerships and mobile app strategy across markets such as Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa, followed by leading strategic partnerships at Revolut and serving as product director for SMB growth at Wise (formerly TransferWise). Before joining QED, he co-founded Kanza Ventures, a boutique seed investment and advisory firm focused on African fintech. He actively mentors founders across Africa and holds an MBA from London Business School.

Laura Bock is a partner at QED focused on U.S. fintech investments. Before QED she advised banks, insurers and payment companies at Oliver Wyman and led a financial infrastructure initiative for emerging economies at the World Economic Forum. She studied biophysics and biochemistry at Princeton.

Matt Burton, who co‑founded and sold Orchard Platform to Kabbage, brings build‑and‑exit fintech experience and backs earned‑wage‑access startups like Rain and minu, arguing these tools improve worker behavior and benefits.

Mike Packer, a LatAm fintech specialist with a Capital One credit background, bridges US investors and local founders, champions AI-driven underwriting and personalization, and educates on unit economics and regulation.

Miles Reidy is Partner Emeritus at QED, advising portfolio companies and serving on several boards. He joined QED in 2014 as a Partner before becoming Partner Emeritus at the end of 2018, and previously held CFO/COO roles at Audax Health, Network Solutions, Sears Holdings, and Capital One.

Nigel Morris is the co-founder and managing partner of QED Investors, a venture capital firm focused on fintech and financial services companies, whose portfolio includes unicorns such as Credit Karma, Nubank, Avant, SoFi, Klarna, GreenSky, and AvidXchange. Before launching QED, he co-founded Capital One Financial Services in 1994 and, as its President and Chief Operating Officer, helped build the company around an information-based approach to consumer lending. He currently chairs ClearScore and Mission Lane and sits on the boards of several fintech companies including Remitly, Bitso, and Current. He is a frequent keynote speaker at fintech conferences and has been named to the Midas List for five consecutive years from 2021 to 2025.

Sandeep Patil leads QED Investors' investing activity across Asia-Pacific, backing fintech and technology founders, and has invested over $250M while serving on 10 boards. He previously was CEO and Managing Director at Truecaller in India and held senior roles at Flipkart, Capital One, Actis Capital and McKinsey & Company. He holds an MBA from London Business School and a B.Tech from IIT Bombay.

Victoria Zuo is a partner at QED Investors on the early stage domestic team, based in San Francisco, where she invests in early stage fintech and commerce businesses. She joined QED in May 2022 as a principal and was promoted to partner in September 2025. Before QED, she helped lead fintech investing at Gradient Ventures, Google's early stage venture fund, backing founders in areas such as insurance, e-commerce, application software, transaction processing, and core fintech infrastructure. She began her career in tech M&A at Qatalyst Partners, advising founders on more than $20 billion in sell-side transactions. Born and raised in Nanjing, China, she draws inspiration from commerce innovation in Asia.

Yusuf Özdalga is a London-based partner at QED Investors focused on European fintech, having joined in 2017. His career began at Capital One in 1997 and included M&A advisory at J.P. Morgan and professional investing in specialty finance and consumer credit across Europe since 2006. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS from the University of Virginia, and is fluent in several languages.

Alex Taub joined QED in December 2023 on the growth team, based in New York. He was previously an investment banking associate at Goldman Sachs working on debt financing for financial institutions and M&A/financing for middle-market companies, and had prior experience with the I-Lab Angels group. He holds a business degree with a sustainability minor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Principal at QED focused on international investments, particularly in Latin America, and head of Fontes, QED's $12M seed-stage LatAm fund. Previously founded Mosaico, a content platform for LatAm entrepreneurs, and spent four years in strategy consulting; holds an MBA from Harvard and a B.S. from Stanford.

Shruti Batra joined QED in January 2024 as a principal in New York focused on early-stage fintech investments. She previously built the strategic finance function at Robinhood and worked at Citigroup investment banking and Standard Chartered Private Equity (now Affirma Capital); she holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Wharton.

Adiam Berhane joined QED as an accounting manager in August 2023, overseeing daily accounting operations and supporting the finance team. She previously worked at Arabella Advisors, Lincoln Property Company, and Bank of Montreal, and holds an accounting degree from York University in Toronto.

Jamie Loving is CFO of QED, overseeing accounting, finance, compliance and back office operations. He previously spent 14 years as CFO of Blue Water Capital, was a founding partner of J. Loving & Company providing part-time CFO services, and began his career at Arthur Andersen LLP.

Katherine Tercek leads investor relations at QED, overseeing fundraising strategy and investor relationships. She previously held IR roles at Bessemer Venture Partners and Palladium Equity Partners, and began her career in investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities.

Katya Marin is VP of Finance at QED, supporting the CFO on accounting policies, financial records and reporting. She previously spent five years at Collage Group and has over 15 years of experience across e-commerce, digital media, publishing, manufacturing and non-profit sectors, and holds a B.A. in Philosophy from NYU.

Laura Stenmark joined QED in 2022 as director of tax, managing the firm's internal tax processes, coordinating with external service providers, and advising portfolio companies and investors on tax reporting and strategy. She previously spent seven years in public accounting at Grant Thornton specializing in pass-through entity and individual income tax, and holds a Master of Science in Taxation from James Madison University.

Matt Bolander joined QED in January 2025 as a business operations associate. He previously served as special assistant to Senator Young of Indiana and is pursuing an MBA at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.

Monty Morris serves as Canine Executive Officer at QED, with a Welsh heritage. He manages security and community oversight activities at the firm's Alexandria location, while also overseeing operational functions including scheduling and logistics.

Nick Gasbarro serves as Chief of Staff to Nigel Morris at QED. He previously was Deputy Chief of Staff to the CEO of Cognizant and worked as Special Assistant to U.S. Senator Rob Portman. He holds an MBA from Georgetown University and degrees from Kenyon College.

An executive and entrepreneur with experience across two IPOs, specializing in product strategy, M&A, strategic partnerships and scale-up. He previously worked at McKinsey, Capital One, Green Dot (building its Green Dot Network), and served as General Manager at FastPay (acquired by AvidXchange). He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Shardae Simpson joined QED Investors in June 2022, bringing over a decade of experience in executive support, marketing and operations across hospitality and technology. She previously held roles including Director of Marketing and Communications at IsI Enterprises, Chief of Staff at Great American Restaurants, and Executive Assistant to the CEO at iCore Networks, and studied Journalism and Promotional Communication at Cleveland State University.

Sov Ballard joined QED Investors in May 2023 as an executive administrator, bringing over 15 years of executive support experience in software and financial services, including roles at Mission Lane, Atlantic Union Bank, PIEtech, and Mapcom Systems. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University.
