Investment thesis
Rainmatter backs Indian founders across fintech, climate, health, and media, focusing on helping Indians make better decisions about money and health. Rather than operating as a conventional fund, it positions itself as a patient, long-term investor uninterested in quick exits, prioritizing long-term impact through partnerships. It does not take board seats or actively participate in businesses, and it avoids stage-based investing, evaluating companies holistically based on the people running them. It invests between roughly βΉ50 lakhs and βΉ100 crores. It has also committed $200 million in funding and grants toward climate action and a healthier environment via the Rainmatter Foundation, reinvesting economic upside back into the Foundation.
