Co-founded IGNIA in June 2007 and serves as managing partner. He led investments in Rapyd, Tiendanube, Abra, Arcus, Credijusto, Lentesplus, ProducePay, UnDosTres and Sr. Pago, is a senior lecturer at Harvard Business School, and formerly served in C-suite roles at Vitro, Farmacias Benavides and Grupo Elektra as well as chairing Compartamos Banco (Gentera) and ACCION International.

Alvaro Rodríguez co-founded IGNIA in 2007 and has served as its managing partner since then, focusing on early-stage tech companies addressing needs of Latin America's emerging middle class. He previously held C-suite roles at NYSE-listed companies, including CFO of Vitro, CEO of Farmacias Benavides, and CFO of Grupo Elektra, and formerly chaired the boards of Compartamos Banco (Gentera) and ACCION International. He is a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's in Economics from ITAM.

Co-founder of IGNIA who joined as managing director at its 2007 founding, bringing decades of private equity and operating experience across Latin America and the US. A Harvard Business School professor and recognized microfinance authority, he previously led ACCIÓN International and co-founded Pegasus Capital.

Partner at IGNIA since 2011, focused on managing portfolio companies and evaluating new investments while supporting entrepreneurs on strategy and operations. Her background includes operating roles at EF Education First and Google, leadership at The Guggenheim Foundation in Mexico, and consulting at The Parthenon Group; she holds a BA from Duke and an MBA from Harvard.

Fabrice Serfati joined IGNIA in 2008 as Partner and founder of IGNIA Shared Services, becoming Partner in 2012. He previously held senior strategy and finance roles at ONEO/Grupo Domos, Vitro (where he managed a $1.5B loan portfolio), and Banco Santander, and holds a business administration degree from ITAM.

Partner at IGNIA who previously worked at glass manufacturer Vitro as a risk manager handling hedged derivative portfolios, and earlier in its corporate finance and financial reporting teams structuring debt and capital issuances. He also served as Vice President of the Energy Commission of Nuevo Leon's CAINTRA and holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon and a bachelor's in accounting and finance from Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Leon Kraig joined IGNIA in 2011 as Partner, bringing over 35 years of business-building experience across developed and emerging markets in marketing, sales, R&D, and general management. He previously spent 25 years at Mars Inc., serving as Regional President for Latin America, and holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota, an MFS from Cornell, and a chemical engineering degree from Universidad Iberoamericana.

Alejandro is an Associate who supports portfolio companies on strategic and analytical work and helps source and evaluate new deals. He previously worked at Arvo Partners, a search fund, and TACNA Services, a nearshoring company Arvo acquired, and holds a Business Engineering degree from ITAM.

Cristina Fernandez Lozano is the Chief Financial Officer at IGNIA, where she has worked since 2010. She manages the fund's financial, administrative, and treasury operations, handles investor reporting, tax planning, and fund compliance, and leads financial and legal due diligence while structuring investment vehicles and serving on the internal ESG committee. She previously worked at GE Energy Industrial Motors and the GE Sourcing team, and holds a degree in Public Accounting and Finance from ITESM Monterrey.

CFO at IGNIA since 2010, overseeing the fund's financial, administrative, and treasury operations, investor reporting, tax planning, and compliance. She leads financial and legal due diligence, structures investment vehicles, and sits on the internal ESG committee; previously she worked at GE Energy Industrial Motors and GE Sourcing.

Emilio Barrera joined IGNIA in 2024, supporting portfolio companies and sourcing and evaluating new investments. He previously worked at boutique investment bank Capitel and spent nearly two years at private equity fund MxO Capital, and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana.

Gladys Garza joined IGNIA in 2011 as an office administrator, supporting the managing directors with scheduling, travel and meeting logistics. She previously held administrative and customer service roles at Melton Truck Lines, General Electric and Northern Telecom, and trained as a bilingual executive assistant at Colegio Labastida.

José Fano was previously an investment analyst at Third Square Capital, a search fund, and worked as a freelance full-stack web developer building AI applications from age 15. He studied Financial Management at ITAM.

José Antonio joined IGNIA in 2024, supporting portfolio companies with strategic and analytical work and helping source and evaluate new investments. He previously worked at FinMédica and spent nearly two years in BBVA's Investment Banking Advisory team on M&A and ECM projects, and holds a Finance degree from ITAM.

Karla Sosa joined IGNIA in 2022 as an Executive Assistant, supporting the Managing Directors with scheduling and accounting tasks such as preparing the fund's monthly budgets and handling logistics. She previously worked at Innovasport and SHASA, and holds a Bachelor's in Business Management and Strategy with a Finance certificate from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.

Mariana Carranza joined IGNIA in 2026 in Investor Relations, handling LP communications, fund performance reporting, and portfolio updates. She has over eight years in VC and PE across Mexico and London, previously at Innovate UK, Terra Firma Capital Partners, and Hi Ventures, and holds an MBA from Oxford's Saïd Business School.

Mauricio Restrepo joined IGNIA's investment team in 2024, sourcing new deals and supporting portfolio companies. He previously worked at ALIVE Ventures, an early-stage impact-focused VC fund in Latin America, and holds degrees in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia.

Valeria García studied Business Administration at FACPYA and previously worked as a credit analyst at a financial institution. She is part of the administrative team at IGNIA.
