Alexis Cazé is President of the Deerfield Foundation and joined Deerfield Management in 2006, where he previously held roles including Managing Director of the Deerfield Institute, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. In his current role he works on expanding the Foundation's nonprofit efforts. Before Deerfield, he worked at Gerson Lehrman Group, Sanofi, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and he holds a PharmD from the Paris University of Pharmacy and an MSc in Business from E.M. Lyon Business School.

He holds a B.A. with honors from Rice University and a Ph.D. from MIT, and has published scientific articles on the genetic regulation of aging and lifespan.

Sumner Anderson is a Partner on Deerfield's Public Structured Finance team, which he joined in 2019 after starting at the firm in 2012 on the Therapeutics team analyzing healthcare companies. Before Deerfield, he was a pharmaceuticals research analyst at Millennium Management, a Managing Director in healthcare investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities, and a pharmaceutical analyst at Citadel Investment Group. He earned an A.B. in History and Economics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from New York University.

Terence Fox-Karnal joined Deerfield in 2010 and works on the Public Structured Finance team, providing analytical and structuring services. He previously was a volatility trader at BAM Capital and a partner trading healthcare-sector equity derivatives at TORO Trading, and holds an S.B. in Finance and Economics from MIT.

Adriana Brito joined Deerfield in 2024 as a Desktop Support Engineer. She previously worked as a Senior Help Desk Engineer consultant at GIC Private Limited and spent nearly three years at Best Buy, most recently as a Microsoft Expert. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from New Jersey City University.

Alex Ashavsky joined Deerfield in 2018 and serves as a Managing Director on the Deerfield Intelligence team, focusing on data science and engineering. He previously held senior software engineering roles at MediaRadar and iHeartMedia, worked as a business intelligence consultant at Sky IT Group, and began his career at TransPerfect Legal Solutions.

Angela Asencio joined Deerfield in 2015 and serves as a Manager on the Therapeutics Team, focusing on business operations and administration. She previously worked as an executive assistant at Barclays and AmeriFactors Financial Group, and held various roles at North Eastern Asset Recovery. She holds a B.A. in Economics from SUNY Albany.

Anthony Barsotti is a Senior Director of Preclinical Pharmacology at Deerfield Discovery and Development, joining the firm in 2020. Christine Brideau joined Deerfield in 2019 and leads preclinical pharmacology within Deerfield Discovery and Development. She previously served as VP of In Vitro Pharmacology at WuXi AppTec and spent 24 years at Merck, and has co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications.

Christopher Freeland joined Deerfield in 2019 as Counsel for Portfolio Company Operations, supporting the firm's External Operations team. He previously served as General Counsel and COO at Aralez Pharmaceuticals, was Associate General Counsel at AIG, and began his career as a corporate associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher and as an investment banking analyst at Citigroup. He holds an A.B. from Princeton and a J.D. from the University of Virginia.

Coco Dong, Ph.D. is a Director of Quantitative Applications on the Deerfield Intelligence team, having joined Deerfield in 2020 as a Senior Genetic Data Scientist before moving to the Intelligence team in 2023. She previously worked as a strategist at Goldman Sachs and a principal statistician at GlaxoSmithKline, and holds an M.S. in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from USC.

Edi Assis is a Director of Cloud Platform Engineering on Deerfield's IT team, joining in 2026. Previously held platform, cloud, and infrastructure engineering leadership roles at Soros Fund Management, Autonomy Capital Management, AQR Capital Management, and Pine River Capital Management, and holds a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Brooklyn College.

Elizabeth Baer joined Deerfield in 2022 as an Executive Assistant and now serves as Senior Associate for Investor Business Development. She previously worked as an administrative assistant at C & R Management Company in Salt Lake City and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Babson College.

Elizabeth Dugan, Ph.D., is a Director of Project Management on the Deerfield Discovery and Development team who joined in 2026. She previously spent over five years at PsychoGenics and over seven years at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, and holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Drexel University College of Medicine.

Emily Boylan is an Associate Director of Market Research on the Deerfield Intelligence team, joining the firm in 2018. She previously conducted survey research at GfK and holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of San Francisco and an M.St. in the Study of Religion from the University of Oxford.

Eric Feuer joined Deerfield in 2021 as a Senior Compliance Officer and Counsel. He previously spent seven years in compliance at Apollo Global Management and earlier worked in compliance at J.P. Morgan Chase's Corporate & Investment Bank. He holds a B.A. from Binghamton University and a J.D. from Cardozo School of Law.

Gabrielle Briganti is a Communications Associate who joined Deerfield in 2023 as an Executive Assistant. She previously spent over two years at SL Green Realty Corp., most recently as Executive Assistant to the COO, and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Richmond.

Harold Davidson joined Deerfield in 2025 as Senior Transactions Counsel, working in business operations, legal, and compliance. He previously was a Corporate Partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman for over two years and a Partner at McDermott Will & Emery for over 15 years. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Emory University and a J.D. from NYU School of Law.

Jared Anderman is a Managing Director, Data Analytics on the Deerfield Intelligence team, joining the firm in 2010. He previously worked as a compensation analyst at Bloomberg LP/Geller & Co. and Cantor Fitzgerald, and began his career at JPMorgan Chase; he holds a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Delaware.

Karen Arnone joined Deerfield in 2005 and serves as Chief Property and Development Officer, overseeing the development and operations of the firm's healthcare innovation center at 345 Park Avenue South. She previously served as Deerfield's Chief Administrative Officer and led its HR function, and earlier held administrative roles at Balyasny Asset Management and XL Reinsurance.

Carnevale joined Deerfield in 2018 and works on the External Operations team focusing on talent acquisition for portfolio companies. She previously held talent and recruiting roles at Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, The Judge Group, Taratec Development Corporation, SRG Woolf Group, and Kelly Scientific Resources, and holds a B.S. in Biology from Binghamton University.
