Investment thesis
MRLV is a science-first corporate venture fund focused exclusively on therapeutics across all modalities — from small molecules to cell therapies — with the potential to transform standards of care. It backs first- and best-in-class preclinical and early-stage (including seed) programs, evaluating them on underlying biology strength, translational data quality, a clear path to human proof-of-concept, and team and syndicate alignment. The fund does not require product or technology rights as a condition of investment, and explicitly excludes medical devices, diagnostics and digital health. It leads or co-leads with sustained capital up to $25M per company from concept through IND, takes active director/observer roles, and offers follow-on funding and access to MSD's R&D leadership and BD&L connectivity.
