HBM Healthcare Investments

Dr. Rudolf Lanz is an economist with a doctorate in law who has served on the board of directors of HBM Healthcare Investments since 2003 and sits on its audit committee. He previously worked as a consultant, executive committee member and partner at Ernst & Young AG from 1980 to 2000, and co-founded The Corporate Finance Group AG, where he was partner and chairman from 2000 to 2009. He holds Swiss nationality.

Stella Xu has served on the board of directors of HBM Healthcare Investments since 2020, sitting on its compensation and nomination committees. She holds a doctorate in immunology from Northwestern University and a degree in biophysics from Peking University, and has been managing director of Quan Capital since 2017. Her earlier career included roles at Roche (2002–2017), McKinsey & Company (1998–2002), and Ionis Pharmaceuticals (1996–1998).

Hans Peter Hasler has chaired the board of directors of HBM Healthcare Investments since 2009 and serves on its audit committee. He was CEO of Vicarius Pharma from 2017 to 2020 and previously held international leadership roles at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Biogen Inc., and Elan Corporation. He holds a Swiss federal commercial diploma and a marketing certificate from the Schweizerisches Institut für Betriebsökonomie (SIB) in Zurich.

Mario G. Giuliani is an economist who has served on the board of directors of HBM Healthcare Investments since 2012, where he is a member of the compensation and nomination committees. He previously held executive positions and board mandates at companies including Giuliani SpA, Recordati SpA, Nogra Group SA, Fair-Med Healthcare AG and Jukka LLC. He also holds board roles at several investment and family office entities and is a Swiss national.
