Investment thesis
Blackbird runs Giants as a free, no-equity mentoring community for aspiring, idea and build stage founders with a connection to Australia or New Zealand. Rather than a traditional accelerator program, Giants focuses on building real relationships, surrounding founders with like-minded peers, and leveraging Blackbird's network of portfolio founders, operators and ecosystem experts as mentors. The program combines weekly in-person events in Sydney and Melbourne with virtual 30-minute 1-1 mentoring sessions, founder rituals and accountability. It targets people at the very beginning of their startup journey who have been working on an idea for less than two years, aiming to help more ANZ founders turn ideas into reality.
