Gary Guthart is chief executive officer and a member of the Board of Directors at Intuitive, having held the CEO role since 2010, and also serves as Chair of the Board. He joined Intuitive's first engineering team in 1996 as a Control Systems Analyst and subsequently held positions including vice president of engineering, senior vice president of product operations, and President and Chief Operating Officer; prior to Intuitive, he worked on computer-enhanced surgery technology at SRI International and supported a NASA team studying pilot performance assessment. Guthart holds a B.S. in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MS and PhD in engineering science from the California Institute of Technology, and he sits on the boards of Illumina and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.

Sue Siegel serves as a board member at Align Technology (NASDAQ: ALGN), where she participates in nominating, governance, and technology committees. Her board portfolio includes Illumina, Nevro, The Engine at MIT, and the Kaiser Family Foundation, among others. Over her 30-year career, she has held CEO and C-suite positions, served as a venture capital investor, and contributed to more than 20 boards across audit, compensation, technology, investment, and governance committees, as well as nonprofit and national advisory boards including roles with the NIH's National Center for Advancing Translational Science and President Obama's Working Group for the Precision Medicine Initiative.
