Investment thesis
Mission Bay Capital aims to help entrepreneurial scientists turn ideas into successful companies, viewing startups as an efficient engine for positive change. It provides critical early-stage capital to prove out technologies at a point when other investors are hesitant. Through its MBC BioLabs incubator, the firm offers state-of-the-art laboratory facilities so startups can begin experiments immediately, helping founders operate efficiently. It further supports portfolio growth through a network of advisors, industry partners, university colleagues, and co-investors. The firm concentrates on science-driven ventures tackling oversized problems including chronic diseases and global environmental challenges.
