Access Industries

Don Wagner joined Access Industries in 2010, where he serves as Senior Managing Director and Head of Strategic Equity Investments. He previously spent 2000 to 2009 as a Senior Managing Director at Ripplewood Holdings, leading an industry group focused on basic industries, and earlier had a 15-year career at Lazard Freres & Co and its affiliates in New York and London. He holds an AB in physics from Harvard College.

Jonah Sonnenborn is Senior Managing Director and Head of Real Estate at Access Industries, which he joined in 2013, overseeing the firm's global portfolio of opportunistic real estate investments. He previously served as a Managing Director and Investment Committee member at Dune Real Estate Partners and worked in the investment banking divisions of Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. He holds an MBA and JD from Columbia and a dual degree in English and Government from Dartmouth College.

Pueo Keffer oversees venture capital investing globally for Access Industries. He previously helped build the growth fund at Redpoint Ventures as a Partner, leading investments in companies such as JUST-EAT, Kabam, and Open English, and earlier worked at TA Associates and Goldman Sachs. He holds a BA in Economics with Honors from Stanford University.

Kristin Gilbertson joined Access Industries as Chief Investment Officer in 2013, overseeing the allocation of capital to external funds. She previously served as Chief Investment Officer of the University of Pennsylvania and as a Managing Director at Stanford Management Company, and began her career at the World Bank. She holds a BA in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and teaches a seminar on wealth management as an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School.

Alejandro Moreno joined Access Industries in 2004, where he has worked on major US and international transactions and overseen complex multi-jurisdictional litigation. He previously served as Executive Vice President, M&A at Young & Rubicam and practiced law at Morrison & Foerster and Chadbourne Parke, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. He holds law degrees from Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires and New York University.

Alex Blavatnik is Chairman of Access Industries, which he joined in 1996 to help manage the firm's activities. He serves as a director of various companies in the Access global portfolio, and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School earned in 1993.

Barry Dinaburg has served at Access Industries since 2007, where he handles tax structuring for investments made by the Blavatnik Family and affiliated companies, as well as worldwide tax planning, cash flows, audits, estate planning, and the Blavatnik Family Foundations' 501(c)(3) status. He previously was a tax partner in the New York office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP, focusing on trust and holding company structures for high-net-worth individuals and the tax aspects of private equity fund formation and transactions. He holds a BS from the State University of New York at Albany, a JD from the University of Pennsylvania, and an LLM in Taxation from New York University, and earned a CPA while at Arthur Andersen.

Danny Cohen is President of Access Entertainment, a division of Access Industries, where he focuses on entertainment and financing growing businesses across feature films, television, live theatre, the creator economy, visual arts and gaming. He has served as executive producer on films including The Zone of Interest, Conclave and The Iron Claw, and co-produced the Broadway production of The Picture of Dorian Gray. Before Access, he was Director of BBC Television, overseeing the BBC's network channels and drama, entertainment, comedy, arts, history, science, educational and documentary content.

Former head of worldwide clinical R&D at Pfizer, currently leading Access Biotechnology.

Lisa Shields is Executive Vice President of Strategic Communications at Access Industries and the Blavatnik Family Foundation. She previously led global communications at the Council on Foreign Relations for over two decades and earlier worked in reporting and production at ABC News, the A&E Network, and Thirteen/WNET. She holds a BA in international affairs and economics from the American University of Paris and a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.

Peter L. Thorén is Executive Vice President of Access Industries and Head of the Access Family Office, and serves as a director of the firm. He also manages the Blavatnik Family Foundation. Before joining Access in 2001, he held senior management roles at Salomon Inc and Walker Digital and worked as an attorney at Rogers & Wells in New York.

Val Blavatnik is a member of the Executive Committee at Access Industries, where he has led investment efforts in the global media and technology sectors and contributed to Access' investment in SpaceX. He currently serves as Special Advisor to the CEO of Warner Music Group and joined the WMG Board of Directors in 2023, after earlier roles at Warner Chappell Music, LionTree, and Eden Productions, along with work as an artist manager. He holds a BA from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Adam Auton is Vice President of Human Genetics at 23andMe, where he leads teams working on large-scale genetic analysis and algorithm development for drug discovery and consumer products. He holds academic training in statistical and population genetics from the University of Oxford. Auton has published more than 50 papers, which have accumulated over 35,000 citations.

Leads Access and Claltech's investments in Israel and is part of Access's global tech team, holding director or observer roles at companies including ironSource, Lightricks, Yotpo, Deezer and Gett. Previously VP of strategy and business development at Clal Industries; holds an LLB and MBA from Hebrew University and an HBS leadership program alumni status.

Peter Thoren is Vice President of Research at 23andMe, where he has been a member of the executive team. He contributed to the development of the company's FDA-authorized consumer genetic test, the establishment of a therapeutics group focused on human genetics-based drug discovery, and the company's public offering, and helped build a human genetics research cohort of over 10 million participants. He oversaw the expansion of the research team from ten to seventy scientists with backgrounds in areas including statistical genetics, machine learning, bioinformatics, epidemiology, and survey methodology.
