He holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Northumbria and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

He is Chairman, CEO and Chief Scientific Officer of Minerva Neurosciences and was previously President and CEO of the Forenap Group; he holds PhDs in Neurosciences and Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Strasbourg.

Sylvia Elder is Deputy General Counsel at Medicxi, advising on seed, venture and growth-stage investment transactions, compliance and corporate matters. She previously trained and worked as a corporate associate at Nabarro LLP (now CMS), handling M&A, IPOs and investment deals in tech and biotech, including a secondment at GlaxoSmithKline.
