Greg Brockman co-founded OpenAI in 2015 and, as its President, is worth an estimated $25.5 billion on the company's $852 billion March 2026 valuation. A math-olympiad kid from Thompson, North Dakota (pop. ~1,000) who won silver at the 2006 International Chemistry Olympiad, he left Harvard, then MIT, to become one of Stripe's first engineers — its first CTO, scaling engineering from 5 to 205 people. At OpenAI he was CTO, then President, personally live-demoing GPT-4 on launch day; when the board fired Sam Altman in November 2023, Brockman quit within hours and returned with him five days later.
