Investment thesis
Purexs is Tom James's personal investment platform, focused primarily on supporting companies he has already backed while occasionally investing or advising where the fit is exceptional. Having built companies, taken two to IPO and backed roughly 300 startups, he looks for unusual, driven founders tackling hard problems with the potential to build something meaningful. His focus spans category-defining software, climate, health and deep technology. He operates with no investment committee, offering founders direct questions, candid feedback and quick answers, and is most useful at high-stakes moments such as finding product-market fit, shaping a round, making introductions or working through strategic decisions.
