Jeff Hinkle, CFA, rejoined EJF in 2024, having previously worked there from 2008 to 2016 as portfolio manager of the firm's debt opportunities strategies and a member of its Executive Committee. Between those tenures he founded Shoals Capital Management, an alternative asset management firm investing across the capital structure in the financial and real estate sectors, where he was Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer. Earlier in his career he worked as a life insurance sector analyst at FBR and as an Associate Director at Navigant Consulting, and he holds an Economics degree from the College of William & Mary.

Evan Schnell is a Venture Partner at Kaleida Capital with over 25 years building and commercializing clinical-grade software across brain-computer interfaces, neuromodulation, and healthcare infrastructure. He is currently Director of Medical Device Software at Axoft and was previously Senior Director of Software at Synchron, and earlier a Principal Software Engineer at Medtronic contributing to the Percept DBS system, with prior roles at McKesson and RelayHealth. He holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and advises Kaleida on NeuroAI, BCI, and regulated digital health.

Kevin Carlberg, PhD, is a Venture Partner at Kaleida Capital focused on applied AI systems, contextual intelligence, and wearable/spatial computing. He was previously Director of AI Research at Meta Reality Labs Research, leading teams developing AI and simulation technologies for wearable and mixed-reality platforms, and earlier spent over eight years at Sandia National Laboratories working on AI-driven model reduction and uncertainty quantification for national security applications. He holds a PhD and MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, and serves as an Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Washington.

Srihari (Sri) Sritharan is a Venture Fellow at Kaleida Capital with operating and transactional experience in neurotechnology and neuro-biopharma. He has worked on major industry partnerships, including a Takeda deal at Beacon Biosignals and an RNA therapeutics collaboration for Acadia Pharmaceuticals, and his doctoral research addressed wireless neuromodulation for sensory restoration. He holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Neuroscience from Brown University.
