Andy Weiss has over 39 years of experience in medtech, having served as President and CEO of several medical device companies including Applied Biometrics, ReCor Medical (sold to Otsuka Medical Devices), CoAxia (sold to Zoll Medical), and Vital Images (acquired by Toshiba). He previously held VP and General Manager roles at Medtronic, along with positions at GE Medical Systems, Marquette Medical Systems, and Booz Allen Hamilton. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering from MIT and an M.B.A. in Marketing & Strategy from Columbia Business School.

Jan-Gisbert Schultze is co-founder of Acton Capital and Soil Alliance, and founder and managing director of Regenerate Forum. Since 1999, he has invested in technology-enabled business models, with particular focus on fashion, direct-to-consumer brands, sustainability, and circular economy sectors. His current work centers on regenerative agriculture and economic transition.

Dominik Alvermann is a Managing Partner at Acton Capital, which he joined in 2014. He began his career as an analyst at Holtzbrinck Digital and studied at Zeppelin University, the University of St. Gallen, and Stanford. Originally from Stuttgart, Germany, he has lived in the US, Colombia, Switzerland, and Ireland.

Named partner to head Acton Capital's investments in North America; a former Amazon VP and BCG consultant, he founded JustBooks (merged into AbeBooks, exited to Amazon in 2008). His Acton investments include Maple, KNIX, ChefsPlate, and Mobify.

Christina Catania joined Acton Capital in 2008, before which she set up and coordinated offices for multinational organisations across various countries, including governmental and non-governmental expatriate assignments. She is a qualified Commercial Interpreter and Certified Translator, holds the American University of Cairo's RSA/CTEFLA Certificate, and has served at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. At Acton she manages relationships with existing and potential investors and supports the fundraising process alongside the Managing Partners.

Dominique Krötz joined Acton Capital in 2013 as a team assistant, handling operations and administrative support at the firm's Munich office. Her responsibilities include managing partner schedules, business trips, meetings, and welcoming visitors. Before Acton, she worked in five-star hotels across Europe.

Dr. Benedikt Sudbrock serves as General Counsel at Acton Capital and has extensive experience as an in-house lawyer in venture capital in Germany. He focuses on corporate law, advising both the firm and its portfolio companies on legal matters.

Christoph Braun has worked in venture capital for over two decades. He earned an MBA in the US in the early 1990s and a PhD from LMU, and worked as a strategy consultant in Frankfurt and San Francisco before focusing on venture investing. At Acton Capital he focuses on sustainable business models and founders.

Hannes Blum joined Acton Capital in 2015 as Venture Partner for North America and is now a Partner. He began his career in strategy consulting at BCG, co-founded JustBooks, and led AbeBooks to market leadership before its sale to Amazon. He holds a Masters in Business and Engineering from University Karlsruhe and a PhD from the Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU), and has served on several tech company boards as a business angel.

Jan-Gisbert Schultze is a Managing Partner at Acton Capital. Before Acton, he worked at McKinsey & Company and Burda. He holds a master's degree and a PhD in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen, and has an interest in the circular economy and regenerative agriculture through his non-profit Regenerate Forum.

Paul-Bernhard Kallen is Managing Partner at Acton Capital, where he contributes to the firm's investment principles and strategy. He is a former CEO and chairman of the Administrative Board at Hubert Burda Media, and has experience as both an investor and entrepreneur.

Sophie Ahrens-Gruber has been part of Acton Capital's investment team since 2022. Previously at media company Burda, she built and led its Corporate Business Development unit from 2013 and introduced the company's sustainability program, while serving on the boards of several international companies. She earlier worked as a teaching associate at LMU Munich researching Decision Support Systems, and holds a PhD in Management and a Master of Business Research from LMU and Columbia Business School, plus a Technology Management degree from CDTM Munich.

Isabel Rafeiner joined Acton Capital's investment team in 2024. She previously worked as a pre-seed VC analyst at Flash Ventures, where she focused on sourcing and early-stage venture building, and has held various roles across startups from pre-product to pre-IPO stages. She holds a Master's in Business Innovation from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and an Honors Degree in Technology Management from CDTM Munich.

Jörg Wernet has led finance, controlling, and reporting at Acton Capital since 2001, overseeing investments, capital markets, and transactions. A chartered engineer, he previously worked as Head of Controlling and as a Sales Engineer for German technology companies in Frankfurt and Stuttgart. He studied at RWTH University in Aachen and INSA Lyon, and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester in New York.

Joseph Hefele joined Acton Capital's investment team in 2020 and works as a generalist across sectors, functions, and geographies with a focus on business models and performance metrics. He previously worked at Google, where he helped European retailers develop their digital strategies. He holds degrees from the University of St. Gallen, Columbia University, and the Hertie School of Governance, and founded the knowledge community Emerald Nodes.

Laura Schuhbauer-Josipovich joined Acton Capital in 2023, bringing experience in banking and capital markets. She previously worked as a consultant in banking and capital markets at BearingPoint and supported N26's European expansion during its growth phase. She holds a Master of Science in Finance from ESADE in Spain and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Leon Buchholz joined Acton Capital in 2023 as part of the finance team, bringing prior experience in investment and operations. He previously worked at PROM12, a Munich-based private equity fund focused on small-cap tech/IT companies, and later at Luminovo, a SaaS startup in the electronics industry, in finance and operations roles. He holds a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and a Bachelor's degree in International Business from CBS-International Business School.

Sophie Ahrens-Gruber joined Acton Capital's Munich investment team in July 2022, having previously been a longstanding limited partner in the firm's fund. Earlier she headed Corporate Business Development and Corporate Responsibility at Hubert Burda Media, where she led due diligence on numerous deals and served on the boards of several US companies. She holds a PhD in Management and a Master of Business Research from LMU and Columbia Business School, plus an honors degree in Technology Management from CDTM Munich, and was previously a research and teaching associate at LMU.
