Investment thesis
German Media Pool pioneered the independent media-for-equity fund model, offering venture-backed consumer-facing startups premium above-the-line media (TV, radio, out-of-home, print, social) at attractive pricing in return for equity, or equity plus cash. It invests jointly on the same terms as VC co-investment partners, typically €0.5–5 million net media per deal though larger is possible. It focuses on scaling consumer companies from Seed onwards with emphasis on Series A or later, across all consumer categories, requiring strong fit between partner media capabilities and the company's customer acquisition strategy. It does not lead rounds or normally take board seats, investing directly or via convertibles. Its associated cash fund GMPVC Opportunities pursues follow-on and select seed-stage investments.
