Investment thesis
UntroD Capital targets 'untrodden' frontier areas that society needs but where capital rarely flows, backing R&D-intensive deep tech startups tackling global and societal challenges. Since founding the RealTech Fund in 2015, it has provided lead investment and hands-on support to seed and early-stage companies, later expanding into growth, global, and crossover impact funds. The firm aims to be first into frontier domains, prove their economics, and thereby create a sustainable mechanism through which capital and talent continue to flow to deep tech. Focus areas span healthcare, energy, materials, space, robotics, biotech and other science-based technologies, with regional deep tech development across Japan and Southeast Asia.
