Investment thesis
CEVG backs early-stage climate tech start-ups with seed capital combined with hands-on operating expertise from its 35+ partners, who bring experience in finance, product commercialization, team building, technology development, and fundraising. Many partners are former entrepreneurs who serve as advisors and sounding boards to founders. The group works closely with its sister firm Clean Energy Ventures (CEV) to source deals, conduct due diligence, and provide follow-on funding, mentoring companies as they grow. CEVG also collaborates with incubators, accelerators, industry groups, corporate partners, and advocacy organizations, and emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion in its pipeline, portfolio, and community.
