Investment thesis
Bascom Ventures gives accredited Wisconsin alumni strategic exposure to venture capital through a diversified annual fund of roughly 20-30 investments and a deal-by-deal syndicate. Backed by the Alumni Ventures platform, it co-invests alongside leading VC firms such as Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia, Khosla, Accel and Founders Fund, seeking diversification across sector, stage, geography and lead investor. Investments span pre-seed through later stages across many sectors and geographies, with the fund team deploying capital over ~12-18 months and reserving capital for follow-ons. Members access shared due diligence, investment memos and low minimums, built on the premise that alumni do better investing together.
