Elsewhere Partners

Chris Pacitti founded Elsewhere Partners to invest in and scale software companies that fall outside the traditional venture capital model. He has over two decades of investing experience, having co-led technology investing at Austin Ventures for 16 years and previously working as a vice president at TL Ventures focused on early-stage technology, following an earlier role as co-founder and COO of a technology startup. He holds a BA in Economics from Johns Hopkins University.

John Thornton was a co-founder of Elsewhere Partners with nearly three decades of software investing experience. He was previously a general partner at Austin Ventures, where he led technology investing from the late 1990s and served as managing partner from 2005 to 2008, and earlier worked at McKinsey & Co. serving clients in the U.S. and Europe. He held an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Trinity University. He died in 2025.

Nick Stoffregen joined Elsewhere Partners in 2018. He was previously an investor at Serent Capital, working on deal origination, due diligence, and value creation for high-growth software companies, and earlier worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company in Chicago advising private equity clients. He holds a BS in Finance and International Business from Indiana University.

Sloane Child works at Elsewhere Partners. She previously served as Business Operations Director at Grovo, a VC-backed e-learning startup in New York, and before that was an investor at growth equity firm General Atlantic, where she focused on deal origination, due diligence, and portfolio value creation. She began her career as an Investment Banking Analyst in Credit Suisse's Oil & Gas group and holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jack Garrison is a software investor at Elsewhere Partners focused on B2B software companies. He is a graduate of the University of Texas McCombs School of Business and is based in Dallas.

Jim Rudden is an Operating Advisor at Elsewhere Partners with 30 years of experience in software marketing, product development, and delivery. He has built brands and revenue through marketing and sales initiatives across multiple industries and geographies, with experience in startup environments.

Cody Younkin works at Elsewhere Partners. He previously spent four years in investment banking at D.A. Davidson, where he executed M&A and growth equity transactions for technology companies in the enterprise software, infrastructure, and security sectors, and earlier served as an Equity Research Assistant at SGL Investment Advisors. He holds a BS in Finance and Management Information Systems from the University of Montana in Missoula, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

John Doyle joined Elsewhere Partners in 2023. He was previously Vice President at Frontier Growth, where he handled deal origination and M&A for growth-stage software companies and led sourcing efforts, and earlier held business development and deal execution roles at Vista Equity Partners and JPMorgan's Energy Principal Investments group. He holds an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Finance from Indiana University.

Kevin Kunz joined Austin Ventures in 1999 and has been with Elsewhere Partners since it began. He oversees the firm's financial reporting, financial and performance analysis, SEC reporting, and tax compliance. He previously worked as a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young's Tax Consulting Group in Austin and holds a Master's in Taxation and a BBA in Accounting from Baylor University.

Tommy Hayes joined Elsewhere Partners in 2022 after graduating from the University of Texas, where he earned a BA in International Relations and a BA in Plan II Honors. He also studied abroad at Veritas University in Costa Rica, earning a minor in Spanish.
