David Jones is a co-founder and General Partner at Bull City Venture Partners, having previously been a partner at Southern Capitol Ventures and a consultant with Deloitte Consulting in Washington, DC. He co-founded the medical device portal Orthocopia.com, where he served as Chief Technology Officer. A former Naval Aviator, he holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the US Naval Academy, an MS in Management Information Systems from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Jason Caplain is a Co-Founder and General Partner at Bull City Venture Partners with over 25 years in venture capital. He began his career in investment banking and consulting at Harrison Hurley and Company, then worked in the finance group at Red Hat through its 1999 IPO. He holds a BS in Finance from Bentley University.

Jeffrey Nemesi is a Senior Enterprise Account Executive at MongoDB, where he works with enterprise customers. He has experience in global account management and holds a Global Account Director position at UKG.

John Scanlon is founder and CEO of Poditude, Inc. and serves as a limited partner at Bull City Venture Partners. He has held executive positions including CEO, president, CFO, and CIO across companies ranging from startups to $500 million in revenue, with experience spanning internet, financial services, consumer marketing, transportation, management consulting, and energy sectors.

Carly Connell joined Bull City Venture Partners in 2026. She previously worked as a Vice President in Deloitte's Emerging Growth Company Practice, advising venture-backed startups in the Southeast on audit, tax, and strategic finance, and helped build Deloitte's Tax Technology alliance ecosystem. She holds a BA in Leadership and Public Policy from the University of Virginia and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from UNC Kenan-Flagler.

Anil Chawla serves as President at All In Insurance Services, which offers coverage across multiple insurance products including home, auto, trucking, business, workers compensation, and life insurance through partnerships with carriers such as Progressive, Nationwide, Travelers, and MetLife. The company also provides access to Covered California and health insurance options through BlueCross BlueShield and Kaiser Permanente.

Bill Welch is Director of Product Management at BlueCat Networks, where he collaborates with marketing, sales, engineering, and customers on product strategy and business outcomes. His background includes technical support and experience in cloud, virtual, security, and network products, along with public speaking and webinar development.

Joseph Dougherty joined Bull City Venture Partners in January 2026, where he sources and evaluates early-stage venture deals. He previously worked at PlayMetrics, a B2B vertical SaaS startup, and interned at executive search startup Founders Keepers in London. He holds a BA in Human and Organizational Leadership Development from UNC and left a Master of Science in Management program there to join BCVP.

Leela Srinivasan is a BCI Clinical Research Intern at Blackrock Neurotech, where she applies neural data science, engineering, and computational neuroimaging to brain-computer interface development for patients with movement and speech disorders. She is completing a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Neural Engineering from Columbia University, expected graduation December 2026.

Tim Buckley is Director of Sales and Marketing at Ocean Center, a sports, entertainment, and convention complex located in Daytona Beach. With over 15 years of experience in event management, sales, and marketing, he works with meeting planners and promoters to facilitate events at the venue.
