Reed Hastings co-founded Netflix in 1997 and led it through two of the hardest pivots any public company has executed: DVD-by-mail to streaming, and licensed content to original production. He had previously founded Pure Software and sold it for about $750M in 1997. He stepped down as co-CEO in 2023 and became Executive Chairman; his book No Rules Rules documented Netflix's culture deck.
