Samuel Hall is a founder and Managing Partner of Scion, with over 20 years of experience in life sciences as an investor, scientist and entrepreneur. From 2013 to 2019 he was a Partner at Apple Tree Partners, where he helped form and build therapeutics companies, and earlier worked as an immunologist at the University of Cambridge, an investment team member at Symphony Capital, and a healthcare investment banker at Citigroup. He holds an A.B. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and completed his M.Phil. and Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge.

Tadd Wessel is a founder and Managing Partner of Scion and also founder and Managing Partner of Petrichor, a private investment firm focused on healthcare. He previously was a Partner at OrbiMed Advisors, where he built out the structured investment business, a Vice President at Fortress Investment Group covering healthcare investments, and started his career in life sciences investment banking at Citigroup and Robertson Stephens. He holds an AB in biology from Princeton University and has served on more than 30 boards.

Jeffrey Edelman is Partner and Head of Operations at Scion, where he also serves as Chief Compliance Officer for both Scion and Petrichor. He joined the firm in 2025 to lead fund operations and support the investment team and portfolio companies. He previously co-founded Pavadi Capital (CFO and Chief Compliance Officer) and Symphony Capital (COO and CFO), and earlier held roles at Alex. Brown, McKinsey, L.E.K. Consulting, Investcorp, and several healthcare startups. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College.

Andreas Loew is a Partner at Scion with more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in protein engineering and structural biology. He founded and served as CSO of Marengo Therapeutics and previously led New Technologies for Biologics at Novartis, where he was principal inventor of core technologies behind the company's adoptive T-cell therapy portfolio and contributed to the FDA-approved CAR-T product Kymriah. He earned his PhD at the University of Bayreuth in Germany and completed postdoctoral training in biochemistry and structural biology at the University of Illinois, Birkbeck College London, and UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Huw Nash is a Venture Partner at Scion with over 27 years of experience founding, funding, and leading biotechnology start-ups. He was the founding CEO and later COO and CBO of Stoke Therapeutics, and previously an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Apple Tree Partners. Earlier he co-founded Aileron Therapeutics and was a founding scientist of NeoGenesis Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Schering-Plough in 2005. He holds a B.A. in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard College and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Harvard University.

Lalo Flores is a Venture Partner at Scion Life Sciences and CEO of Flux Therapeutics, a Scion portfolio company. He has over 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, beginning at Tularik (later acquired by Amgen) and holding senior R&D leadership roles at Merck and Johnson & Johnson. He co-founded Novira Therapeutics (acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2015) and was founding CEO of Century Therapeutics, which he took public in 2021. He holds a doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Rutgers University and completed post-doctoral work at the Salk Institute.

Romesh Subramanian is a Venture Partner at Scion Life Sciences with over 20 years of experience in pharma and biotech as a scientist, founder, and entrepreneur, having worked on nucleic acid therapeutics, biologics, and antibody conjugates. He previously served as President and CEO of Ascidian Therapeutics, was founding CEO of Dyne Therapeutics, and was an EIR at Atlas Ventures where he co-founded and led R&D at RaNA Therapeutics (later Translate Bio). Earlier he led therapeutics work at Alexion and Pfizer. He holds a B.S. from Loyola College, an M.S. from Duke University, and a Ph.D. from Emory University.

Elliot Warner is an Associate at Scion Life Sciences, which he joined full-time after completing fellowships at Scion, Flagship Pioneering, and Vida Ventures. He holds a B.A. in Biochemistry from Claremont McKenna College and a Ph.D. from the Scripps Research Institute, where he worked in Peter Schultz's laboratory.

Megan Blewett joined Scion Life Sciences as a Principal on the investment team in 2025. She was previously an investor at Venrock, where she co-founded Kelonia Therapeutics (acquired by Eli Lilly) and Iris Medicine, later taking operating roles at both companies, including serving as President of Iris Medicine. She earned a PhD as a Hertz Fellow from the Scripps Research Institute and holds an AB/AM in chemistry from Harvard.

Samuel Hendel is an Associate at Scion Life Sciences, which he joined in April 2023. He previously was a postdoctoral fellow in David Baker's laboratory at the Institute of Protein Design at the University of Washington. He holds a B.A. in Chemistry and Mathematics from Amherst College and a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from MIT, where he was an NSF Graduate Research Fellow.

William Chour is an Associate at Scion, having previously worked with the firm as part of the inaugural cohort of Scion Fellows. He earned an M.D. from the Keck School of Medicine of USC and a Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology, where he researched immunotherapy technologies for oncology and COVID-19 in James R. Heath's laboratory. He also holds an A.B. in Chemistry from Princeton University.
