Investment thesis
Big Idea Ventures invests in and accelerates top-performing startups in the new food space, focused on proteins, fats, ingredients, sweeteners, flavorings and mono-crops. Through its Global Food Innovation Fund and accelerator programs in New York City, Singapore and Paris, it selects alternative protein and ingredient companies twice a year for a five-month program combining capital, mentorship, in-house food scientists and an ecosystem of corporate and strategic partners. A separate Generation Food Rural Partners fund commercializes university-developed IP in food, protein and agriculture to support rural economic development in the United States. The firm aims to improve food security and sustainability while backing diverse founders worldwide.
