About
Brian Armstrong co-founded Coinbase in 2012 out of Y Combinator and took it public by direct listing in 2021, making it the first major US crypto company to list and the industry's principal regulated on-ramp. A former Airbnb engineer, he fought and largely won a landmark SEC enforcement action, published the mission-focused-company memo that reshaped debates on politics at work, and founded NewLimit and ResearchHub.
