Chris Hulme earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Master of Accountancy from Brigham Young University. Before joining Sorenson Capital, he co-founded the ecommerce startup Glass House Media, which launched and scaled direct-to-consumer brands including the health and wellness brand Nello. As an investor, he takes a hands-on approach and relies on data-driven analysis when working with portfolio companies.

Erin Halbrecht works at Sorenson Ventures, having most recently been on the Marketing and Platform team at Bessemer Venture Partners. Before that, she worked on the venture capital Operations and Marketing team at Mubadala, a sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi. She holds a dual bachelor of arts degree in Entrepreneurship and Environmental Science from Mount Holyoke College.

Grace Wang is an early-stage investor whose interest in entrepreneurship was shaped by watching founders in her own family build businesses. She focuses on partnering closely with founders and teams at the early stage, emphasizing curiosity, consistency, and trust.

Jeff Todd invests in enterprise software, focusing on companies in that fast-moving market. Kate Ward is the Marketing & Communications Manager at Sorenson Capital, handling the firm's public relations and communications and supporting portfolio companies with their own PR efforts. Laura Burke joined Sorenson Capital in 2025, where she handles financial reporting, audits, distribution allocations, and limited partner communications. She previously worked as VP of Finance at Tandem Venture Partners and as a Fund Controller at Cornerstone Fund Services. She holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from BYU-Hawaii and a Master's in Accounting from the University of Utah.

Melinda Lynch joined Sorenson Capital in 2003 as the executive assistant to Ron Mika, supporting the management team with special projects and meeting arrangements. Before Sorenson, she worked on the ceremonies production team for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and remained involved with Olympic Legacy Projects. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Business Management from Brigham Young University.

Paul Newey joined Sorenson Capital in 2003, where he oversees information systems management and operations. He previously spent six years managing technology for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, and began his career as a systems engineer at IBM working with state and local government clients. He holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah.

PJ Marsh is an investor at Sorenson Ventures who focuses on supply chain software, viewing it as an area shaped by geopolitical shifts, reshoring, and technological innovation. He looks for founders who can build and empower strong teams as a key differentiator.

Sam McBride joined Sorenson Capital in 2025 as a Senior Associate on the Investor Relations team, working on fundraising and investor relations. Before this, he spent four years at Portfolio Advisors, a global private asset manager focused on the U.S. middle market, where he helped launch and scale private markets products including a retail-focused fund, with work spanning product development, investor relations, and operational strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University.

Sophia Sorensen joined Sorenson Capital in 2026 in a support role, assisting the team with organization, communication, and logistics across the firm. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University.

Spencer Law joined Sorenson Capital in 2017 and handles tax compliance and tax planning for the firm. Before this, he spent three years at EY in Houston and three years at Goldman Sachs in Salt Lake City. He holds a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Brigham Young University.

Weston Wallin focuses on growth-stage investing in technology companies, with an interest in disruptive technologies and businesses adopting new solutions to stay competitive. He views the growth stage as an inflection point where he can partner with companies as they mature.
