Jay Watkins has more than 45 years of experience in the medtech industry, having bought and sold numerous companies in healthcare. He co-founded Origin Medsystems (acquired by Eli Lilly) and Gynecare (acquired by Johnson & Johnson), held President and Management Committee roles at Guidant, and was a General Partner at De Novo Ventures. He holds a B.A. from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Kate Garrett has nearly two decades of experience in the medical device industry as an inventor, entrepreneur, and operator, working across companies from early-stage startups to large multinationals. She co-founded and led Ciel Medical (acquired by Vyaire Medical), later serving as VP of Airway Technologies at Vyaire, and held roles at Acclarent, Pathway Medical, and Jackson Medical. She also serves as Associate Director of the Stanford Biodesign Innovation Fellowship and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Olin College of Engineering.

Co-founder and CEO of digital health company Evidation Health and a member of Material Impact's entrepreneurial advisory board since Fund I. She previously served as Chief Commercial Officer of genomic diagnostics firm CardioDx and held R&D and new ventures leadership roles at Guidant Corporation's Vascular Intervention Division.

Fred Moll is a medtech entrepreneur with over 40 years of experience in robotic surgery. He co-founded and served as CEO of Intuitive Surgical, developer of the da Vinci surgical system, and later founded and led Auris Health, whose Monarch platform was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2019. He holds a B.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley, an M.S. in Management from Stanford, and an M.D. from the University of Washington.

Ori Belson is a Principal at Sonder Capital who focuses on medical technology and AI-enabled healthcare investments. He has a background in both engineering and medicine, and works across venture investing and company building to develop clinical solutions. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.D. from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and was a Stanford Biodesign Innovation Fellow.

Todd Brinton is a physician and investor with a background in medical technology, having served as a founder, board member, and advisor to multiple startups with a focus on cardiovascular innovation. He was Chief Scientific Officer and Corporate Vice President of Advanced Technology at Edwards Lifesciences and was physician founder, board member, and Chief Medical Officer of ShockWave Medical. He is a clinical professor of medicine (cardiology) and adjunct professor of bioengineering at Stanford University School of Medicine, practices as an interventional cardiologist, and directs the fellowship at Stanford Biodesign.

Andy McGibbon is Co-Founder and former Partner at Sonder Capital, and currently serves as Head of Strategy – US at Vitestro. He has more than 16 years of experience across management consulting and the life science industry, including work as a consultant at Medtech Innovation Consulting. He holds a B.S. in Materials Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an M.S. in Management, Technology, and Economics from ETH Zurich, and completed the Stanford University Biodesign Fellowship.

Andy Weiss has over 39 years of experience in medtech, having served as President and CEO of several medical device companies including Applied Biometrics, ReCor Medical (sold to Otsuka Medical Devices), CoAxia (sold to Zoll Medical), and Vital Images (acquired by Toshiba). He previously held VP and General Manager roles at Medtronic, along with positions at GE Medical Systems, Marquette Medical Systems, and Booz Allen Hamilton. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering from MIT and an M.B.A. in Marketing & Strategy from Columbia Business School.

Dan Azagury is a surgeon and academic who serves as Associate Professor of Surgery and Chief of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine, and directs the Stanford BioDesign Fellowship Program. He co-founded Ciel Medical, which was acquired by Vyaire Medical, and holds an M.D. from Geneva University School of Medicine with fellowships at Harvard Medical School.

Grant Heidrich has more than 29 years of venture capital experience, primarily at Mayfield Fund, where he served as Managing Director across Mayfield Funds IV through X and helped build the firm's health care practice. He previously served as President of the Western Association of Venture Capital and as a Director of the National Venture Capital Association. He holds a B.A. from the Department of Human Biology at Stanford University and an MBA from Columbia University.

Joe Mandato has over 40 years in venture capital and medtech entrepreneurship. He has served as Managing Director at DeNovo Ventures and led several medical device companies, including Gynecare (acquired by Johnson & Johnson), Origin Medsystems (acquired by Eli Lilly), and Ioptex Research (acquired by Smith & Nephew), and held roles at Guidant Corporation and Heart Rhythm Technology. He has been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Mayfield Fund and lectures on medical device innovation at Stanford's Byers Center for Biodesign.

Marisa Meehan has more than 15 years of experience across investment banking and high-growth technology startups. She was a founding team member at Nudgit, Inc., a B2C marketplace, where she led sales, operations, and client relationships and built the company's service provider network through partnerships with over 1,000 local businesses. She previously worked in commercial real estate banking at Savills, helping raise capital and conducting due diligence on medical office, retail, multifamily, and hospitality assets. She holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is a CFA Charterholder.

Mike Levinthal has more than 30 years of venture capital experience and is Managing Partner at Levinthal Capital. He previously was Managing Partner at Mayfield Fund, founded Mayfield Software Partners, and founded ONSET Ventures, a firm focused on incubating new companies. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.S. in Engineering/Industrial Management, and an M.B.A., all from Stanford University, where he is also a Distinguished Career Institute Fellow.

Roberta Lipson has spent more than 40 years in China's health care sector. She founded and led United Family Healthcare (UFH), co-founded and served as CEO of Chindex, and is Vice Chair of New Frontier Health. She holds a B.A. from Brandeis University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
