Investment thesis
PureTech Health builds and develops novel medicines by identifying patient needs where an existing therapeutic approach has demonstrated human efficacy but is held back by limitations such as off-target effects, low bioavailability, or poor tolerability. Its R&D model rests on three principles: validated efficacy, clear patient benefit, and an efficient, de-risked path to new classes of medicine. Programs are advanced through Founded Entities, exemplified by KarXT (Cobenfy) for schizophrenia, developed in Karuna Therapeutics and later acquired by Bristol Myers Squibb. Other programs include deupirfenidone for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and GlyphAllo, an oral allopregnanolone prodrug using its Glyph technology for mental health indications.
