Jim Jen is a Distinguished Service Professor of Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business and Director of the Corporate Startup Lab, which supports companies in adopting entrepreneurial practices. He co-founded AlphaLab, one of the earliest accelerators in the United States, and subsequently established AlphaLab Gear, AlphaLab Health, and the Robotics Factory. Earlier in his career, Jen held product management roles at Silicon Valley companies and worked as a management consultant advising consumer-oriented firms on strategy and growth, while also leading early-stage investments in over 200 pre-seed and seed companies through Innovation Works. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in economics and an MBA from Stanford University.

Megan Shaw is President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Alliance, where she leads efforts to align industry, academic, and philanthropic stakeholders in advancing the region's life sciences sector. Previously, she founded and led AlphaLab Health, a healthcare startup accelerator developed as a joint venture between Innovation Works and Highmark Health, and held roles in venture capital and strategy consulting. She has supported fundraising and acquisition activities for life sciences companies and serves on multiple boards.

Aaron Tainter serves as Director of Accelerator Programs at Innovation Works, where he oversees AlphaLab, a four-track accelerator program supporting early-stage startups in software, hardware, life sciences, and robotics. With nearly 20 years of experience in venture capital and innovation strategy, he manages seed-stage investments, portfolio company support, and founder recruitment while teaching startup funding and venture capital at Carnegie Mellon University as an adjunct instructor. AlphaLab portfolio companies have raised over $1.3 billion in follow-on capital and achieved more than 20 successful exits.

Andrew Katon is an electromechanical engineer at Innovation Works with experience in robotics, AI hardware, and manufacturing commercialization. Previously, he founded Cobbler Technologies to develop novel additive manufacturing applications and played a key role in scaling Ellison Surface Technologies from $35M to $200M in revenue prior to its acquisition.
