Hadean Ventures

Walter Stockinger is a healthcare investor with a background in strategy consulting and scientific research. He previously worked at the Boston Consulting Group's Healthcare Practice, advising pharmaceutical companies and PE firms on commercial projects and M&A, and in 2009 joined the London office of a specialist healthcare VC firm where he handled deal sourcing, due diligence, and exit management. He holds a master's degree and a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Vienna and spent over five years as a research fellow at Harvard University, publishing 15 peer-reviewed papers.

Roger Franklin trained as a scientist, completing doctoral work at Cambridge's Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), and has since worked across venture capital, investment banking, and strategy consulting for nearly two decades. Before joining Hadean Ventures in 2018 to lead its Stockholm office, he was a pharmaceutical and biotechnology analyst at the investment bank Liberum in London. At Hadean, he focuses on therapeutic-space investments.

Georgina Askeland joined Hadean Ventures as an Investment Analyst in 2020. She holds a PhD in molecular biology from University College London and the University of Oslo, with doctoral research on mitochondria, DNA repair, and Huntington's Disease, and completed an MBA at Quantic School of Business and Technology in 2021. Her prior experience includes scientific publishing in London, work as a science writer for the UK Medical Research Council, and innovation consulting where she helped health start-ups with R&D projects and grant funding.

Lene Gerlach has 25 years of experience in the life science industry and about a decade in venture capital, where she has financed more than 35 companies, led follow-on rounds, and completed exits. She previously held a Partner role at Eir Ventures. She has served as Chairperson for 18 companies.

Nora Kaarela has over 25 years of experience in life sciences and health technology as both a senior executive and investor. She has served as CEO and senior executive at biopharma, diagnostics, and medtech companies, working with leadership teams and boards from early stage through international scale-up and commercialization, and has supported venture funds with deal sourcing, investment evaluation, and board-level work. She holds an M.Sc. in Medical Electronics and an MBA from IMD, Switzerland.

Camilla Olsen has a background in sustainable finance and works on ESG and impact-related regulations, frameworks, and strategies. She previously worked as an advisor supporting financial institutions including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, and AIFMs. She holds an MSc in Business Administration from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), specializing in finance and sustainability, with a master's thesis on ESG integration in Scandinavian PE/VC.

Florian Eckhardt has over 20 years of experience in life sciences spanning research, product development, business development, and sales, including roles at medical device companies such as Epigenomics AG, Brahms AG, and ThermoFisher, and most recently as CEO of DST GmbH in Germany. He previously gained investment experience at the life science VC fund Inventages in London and in a corporate role at ThermoFisher, and served as a visiting professor at IE Business School in Madrid. He holds a PhD and Master in Biology from Universität Freiburg and an International Executive MBA from IE Business School.

Jan Kästingschäfer holds an MSc in Sustainable Finance from BI Norwegian Business School, including a semester at Bocconi University in Milan, and a bachelor's in Banking and Finance from the University of Zurich. His background covers sustainable finance and venture capital, with experience in consulting, green infrastructure investments, and impact investing. Prior to Hadean Ventures, he worked at Katapult Ocean, an impact fund focused on early-stage ocean technologies.

Lene Dragesund has prior experience in administration at Statoil ASA (now Equinor), project management in the arts, and as a retail manager. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Bergen (2003). She currently works as Senior Office Manager at Hadean Ventures.

Markèta Chlubnovà holds a PhD in Immunology from the University of Oslo Medical Faculty, where she researched autoimmune diseases. She later worked as a Scientist at Nextera, a Norwegian biotechnology company developing cancer immunotherapies, and as a Management Consultant at Boston Consulting Group in Oslo, focusing on healthcare projects and commercial due diligence in therapeutics and medtech. She is now an Investment Analyst at Hadean Ventures.

Markus Dietrich is a senior investment associate concentrating on life science start-ups. He has experience in scientific and business development work at start-up companies and has personally invested in early-stage companies across several sectors as an angel investor. He holds a PhD in Oncology from the University of Oslo and a Master of Science in Molecular Medicine from NTNU Trondheim, and has published in peer-reviewed journals.

Miao He is a scientist with about a decade of experience across venture capital, startups, and R&D in the life sciences. She was previously an Associate at Luminous Ventures, a UK-based healthcare and technology investor, and worked as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Illumina developing algorithms for precision oncology, including collaboration with Genomics England on the 100,000 Genomes Project. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from London Business School, and has authored 18 peer-reviewed publications.

Paal August Nordhagen has three decades of experience in asset management, primarily as a portfolio manager across asset classes and markets. He holds a Master of Science in Technical Chemistry from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTNU) and a Cand.merc. (HAE) from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), and is a Certified European Finance Analyst.

Pål R. Jensen has over 20 years of experience in venture capital, focused mainly on operational back-office work, particularly finance. He holds a four-year finance degree (Siviløkonom) from BI, Norwegian Business School. Before joining Hadean Ventures in 2024, he was Director of Finance at NeoMed Management, a VC firm focused on healthcare and life sciences.

Silje C. L. Ervik is Head of Legal at Hadean Ventures. She previously spent over 10 years as a lawyer at PwC, working on restructuring, national tax, and company law for both national and international clients. She holds a six-year Cand. Jur. law degree from the University of Bergen, Norway, with a specialization in company law.

Vilde Fredheim holds an MSc in Finance from Imperial College Business School in London and has a background in investment banking, capital raising, and institutional partnerships. Before Hadean, she worked at Heimstaden's Capital Raising & Client Relations team on strategic partnerships, capital markets, and business development, and earlier at Goldman Sachs in London focusing on M&A.

Yun Yang holds an MD from Taipei Medical University and is an MSc candidate in Health Economics at Karolinska Institutet. Before joining Hadean Ventures, she gained experience in healthcare investment banking at Pareto. She works from the firm's Stockholm office and focuses on healthcare innovation.
