Investment thesis
Oxford Technology invests in startup and early-stage technology companies located in and around Oxford through SEIS and EIS tax-advantaged funds. Its flagship three-year fund allocates capital across roughly eight tech startups, deploying SEIS seed funding in year one and EIS follow-on funding to strong performers in later years; a separate knowledge-intensive EIS fund invests in five more mature portfolio companies. The team, describing itself as scientists focused on the underlying science, screens a large deal flow (selecting roughly 5 per 1,000 annually) and works closely with founders on business model and pricing. It typically provides up to £150k of SEIS seed funding and up to £300k of EIS follow-on capital.
