Veteran technology executive who held senior roles at Alcatel-Lucent, served as CEO of Barco and founded silicon photonics startup Caliopa. He joined Qbic I as a managing partner in 2012.

She has held board positions and served as an advisor to multiple startups and scale-ups, including companies in EU Commission and EIT Health programs. Her background includes leading local and international teams across digital health, marketing strategy, and venture capital.

Dirk Wauters is a visiting professor of innovation management at KU Leuven and a business angel investor. He has held senior executive positions at Alcatel and Siemens, serving as CEO of Siemens Networks and VRT, Belgium's public service broadcaster, where he directed operational turnarounds and growth initiatives. His background includes founding Silvar-Lisco, KU Leuven's first spin-off, which listed on Nasdaq in 1984, and five years working in Silicon Valley.

Eric Peeters is Division CEO of Bekaert Construction and a member of the company's Group Executive Committee. He has held leadership and P&L responsibility across multiple industries, including chemicals, home and personal care, construction, solar energy, lighting, industrial manufacturing, coatings, electronics, and automotive. Peeters serves as Vice Chair of the American Cleaning Institute, Chairman of the Energy Materials Industrial Research Initiative, a board member of the Global Silicone Council, and an investment committee member at Qbic, a venture capital fund based in Ghent. He has worked professionally in Belgium, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Switzerland.

Johan Brants is a European, Belgian, and Dutch patent attorney and founding partner of Brantsandpatents, a firm offering intellectual property services including prosecution, litigation, portfolio management, and enforcement advice. The firm maintains offices in Ghent and Brussels and focuses on chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and mechanical engineering patent matters. Brants and his firm have been recognized in the IAM Patent Guide's World's Leading Patent Practitioners.

Katleen Vandersmissen is Managing Partner at HERAN Partners, a venture capital firm focused on European HealthTech. Her background spans industry, management consultancy, and the venture capital and private equity sectors, with experience across life sciences, technology, and recycling and materials. Her areas of expertise include strategic and business planning, execution, negotiations, people management, and coaching.

Life sciences researcher with a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine who conducted research at Leuven and Harvard Medical School and managed clinical science at Boston's One Brave Idea initiative before joining Qbic.

Life sciences background with interest in biotech and IT, previously worked at Pfizer and J&J and led an audit team at Ordina before joining Qbic.

PhD in Biomedical Sciences focused on nanotechnology for biomedical applications, with research experience at imec, Leuven and Harvard.
