Investment thesis
Oyster Bay invests exclusively in impact-driven companies along the food value chain, spanning agriculture, automation and robotics, novel ingredients, biotech, and consumer food and beverage brands. The team, composed of former food-sector entrepreneurs, prefers to lead rounds and typically invests from seed through Series B (comfortable earlier or later opportunistically), with initial checks of roughly EUR 1m to 5m and substantial follow-on reserves. It invests in only 1-2 companies per quarter, prioritizing ambitious, resilient founders whose products create positive societal impact according to its own impact framework, alongside strong business models in large markets with early traction. All team members invest their own money into the funds.
