OCC is the University of Edinburgh's venture fund, investing responsibly and with a long-term horizon in disruptive, ambitious and sustainable companies emerging from the University ecosystem. It backs startups and spinouts from pre-seed to Series A, with a focus on deep-tech and high-impact ideas that benefit people and the planet. The team specialises in early-stage deep-tech investment, working alongside founders, investor partners and the wider University community to bring ideas from staff, students and research into the world. OCC is part of Edinburgh Innovations, the University's commercialisation service, and is a signatory of the Investing in Women Code.
