Investment thesis
Carbon13 builds and backs ventures tackling Earth's critical life support systems, prioritising the climate emergency. It selects determined founders — scientists, engineers, and serial entrepreneurs — to co-found and build climate-tech startups, with each venture expected to have the potential to mitigate net 10 million tonnes of CO2e per year at scale. Through its Venture Builder programmes in Cambridge and Berlin and a Venture Accelerator for pre-seed startups, Carbon13 aims to support thousands of entrepreneurs and mitigate over 400 million tonnes of CO2e annually by 2040. Investments are made via SEIS funds in partnership with Syndicate Room.
