Investment thesis
Octopus Investments believes the strongest financial returns come from backing companies that care about their impact on the world, holding that responsible investing delivers both societal and environmental progress and sound returns. As a certified B Corporation, the firm emphasizes long-term, responsible investing with no trade-off between doing good and making money. Erin became CEO of Octopus Ventures in January 2025 and CEO of Octopus Investments in September 2025. She previously spent nearly two decades at HSBC Innovation Banking (formerly Silicon Valley Bank UK), scaling its UK operations.
Lieven has a long asset management career including 20 years at Schroders in Hong Kong and London. He has also served on the board of Greencoat Capital and advised Boston Consulting Group.
