Investment thesis
The Josephine Collective operates as a women-led angel group where investors individually decide whether to participate in each deal rather than pooling capital into a fund. Managers source and present 2-3 startups per month, and the group invests as a single line on the cap table once enough interest meets the minimum check. Its membership is at least 51% women and people of color, offering founders diverse representation plus mentorship, talent, and customer connections. The group writes first/friends-and-family checks and will participate as late as Series B, but does not lead rounds. It focuses on accessibility and low operating costs by avoiding per-deal special purpose vehicles.
