Investment thesis
GHIC invests to catalyze technologies that improve human health worldwide, focusing on strengthening global health security and addressing urgent challenges such as infectious disease and maternal and child health. Its namesake $108M social impact fund (GHIF) backed twelve companies developing clinical diagnostics, devices, vaccines, and therapeutics targeting infectious diseases that disproportionately affect low- and middle-income countries, including HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and cholera. In partnership with BARDA at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, GHIC uses venture investments to support technologies that respond to or prevent public health emergencies such as pandemics and other global health security threats.
