Investment thesis
The EPA is a U.S. federal agency, not an investment firm. Its mission is to protect human health and the environment by ensuring clean air, land, and water, and by grounding environmental risk reduction in the best available science. It develops and enforces regulations implementing environmental laws, provides grants to states, non-profits, and educational institutions, studies environmental issues at national laboratories, sponsors partnerships with businesses and governments, and educates and informs the public. Roughly half of its budget goes to grants supporting state environmental programs, community cleanups, and scientific studies.
