Also Capital backs founders who intentionally choose hard problems, believing such courage drives outperformance and attracts exceptional talent and ambitious capital. The firm invests very early — usually at inception, before markets are well defined or consensus forms — and runs deliberately concentrated funds of about 15 core companies so it can devote sustained attention to each. Its portfolio centers on founders building durable systems that resist decay, spanning frontier and deep-technology areas such as space, nuclear, optical, and manufacturing. Since 2019 it has invested in over 30 companies. The firm leans in hardest on early support, including help with first hires.
