As illustrated by its first such investment in Chess.com (2012, ~$4M revenue, no institutional investors), the firm looks for contrarian opportunities that mainstream VC overlooks, relying on persistence to source deals and willingness to hold through slow, deliberate growth until timing and market waves validate the bet.
