Investment thesis
The fund provides late-stage equity to venture-backed Canadian companies with revenues of $10 million or more that use innovative technologies and business models. It acts flexibly as either a lead or syndication partner and supports primary or secondary issuances. Target areas include AI and machine learning applications across eCommerce, AgTech, EdTech and HealthTech; blockchain for Fintech, Cybersecurity and Insurtech; as well as TravelTech and MarTech. The fund aims to give companies the time and resources to expand markets worldwide, focusing on scale, momentum and alignment. It is part of BDC Capital and continues the mandate of prior Funds I and II.
