Artiman Ventures

Tim Wilson is a Partner Emeritus at Artiman Ventures, where he focuses on early-stage technology investments. He previously spent 2001 to 2011 as a General Partner at Partech International and, from 1997 to 2001, served as Chief Marketing Officer of Digital Island. Earlier in his career he was a General Manager at Lucent Technologies, and he holds a B.A. in Physics from Bowdoin College and an M.B.A. from Duke University.

Ajit Singh is a Partner at Artiman Ventures who invests in early-stage technology and life science companies. He previously served as President and CEO of BioImagene, a digital pathology company acquired by Roche, and spent nearly two decades at Siemens in leadership roles including CEO of its Digital Radiology and Medical Informatics business. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Columbia University and is an Adjunct Professor at Stanford University's School of Medicine.

Amit Shah is a Partner at Artiman Ventures who focuses on early-stage investments across a range of sectors, including materials technologies, construction, semiconductors, and advanced software and systems. Before founding Artiman, he was a repeat entrepreneur whose companies Zeitnet and PipeLinks were acquired by Cabletron and Cisco respectively, and he served as General Partner of seed-stage firm Anthelion Capital. He holds a B.S.E.E. from M.S. University Baroda and did graduate work at UC Irvine.

Brian Wilcove studied American History at Miami University and began his career as a legal analyst at a legal advisory firm in New York City in 1995. He transitioned into technology, working at AOL, and has more than 20 years of investing experience focused on technology companies.

Tom Dennedy is a Partner at Artiman Ventures, which he joined in 2007, working on early and later-stage technology investments. He was previously a Managing Director at Telesoft Partners and, before that, a technology and corporate attorney at Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, and served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. He holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from MIT, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Yatin Mundkur is a Partner at Artiman Ventures, which he joined in 2004, focusing on early-stage technology and medtech investments. Before Artiman, he was Managing Director at TeleSoft Partners, founded and led Equator Technologies as President, and held technical and management roles at Conexant, Sun Microsystems, Ross Technology, and Cypress Semiconductor. He holds fourteen patents and earned a B.S.E.E. from MSU of Baroda, India, and an M.S.E.E. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. David Lawrence is an advisor to Artiman Ventures and its portfolio companies, focused on healthcare delivery system change in the U.S. and globally. He served as CEO and Chairman of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals from 1991 to 2002, having joined Kaiser Permanente in 1981 after roles in public health, academia, and the Peace Corps. He earned a bachelor's degree from Amherst College, an M.D. from the University of Kentucky, and a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington, and co-founded the healthcare consulting firm Healthcare Innovators, LLC.

John Dean is an advisor to Artiman Ventures and its portfolio companies, focusing on early-stage financial services investments. He has spent 35 years as a financial services executive, currently serving as Chairman and CEO of Central Pacific Bank in Honolulu and previously as CEO and Chairman of Silicon Valley Bank/Bancshares, as well as CEO of Pacific First Bank and two First Interstate banks. Since 2005 he has been Managing General Partner of Startup Capital Ventures, an early-stage fund. He holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School and is a graduate of Holy Cross College.

Mike Gustafson is an advisor to Artiman Ventures and its portfolio companies, with more than 25 years of experience leading public and private technology companies across infrastructure and software. He was previously CEO and Chairman of Virident Systems (acquired by Western Digital) and CEO and board member of BlueArc Corporation (acquired by Hitachi Data Systems), where he later served as SVP and GM of the File and Content Business, and held senior roles at McDATA and IBM. He holds a degree from Washington University in St. Louis's John M. Olin School of Business.
