Chris Britt built America's largest digital consumer bank for the people traditional banks charged the most. He co-founded Chime in 2012 with Ryan King to serve households earning $35,000 to $65,000 who were losing money to overdraft and maintenance fees, and took it public on Nasdaq in June 2025 at $27 a share — a listing that raised $993.6 million and jumped 37% on its first day. Chime now serves 10.4 million active members on $670 million of quarterly revenue and $38 billion of quarterly purchase volume, and has turned profitable. He learned the business from the inside first, as Chief Product Officer and then SVP of corporate development at Green Dot through its IPO, after senior roles at Visa, Comscore and Accenture. He studied history and economics at Tulane, which named him its Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year in 2024 and elected him to its board.
