Managing Director at E12 Ventures and Mitsui Global Investment who joined E12 in January 2025. He spent 20 years at Mitsui, including a stint as Managing Partner at Magenta Venture Partners in Tel Aviv and as General Manager of Mitsui & Co.'s Venture Capital Business Department, and holds a law degree from the University of Tokyo.

Co-Managing Partner at E12 who also co-founded Morado Ventures and CODE Advisors, a San Francisco investment banking firm. He previously led strategy and corporate development at CBS Interactive and Yahoo!, and worked as an investment banker at Robertson Stephens and Merrill Lynch.

Sunao Nishimura joined E12 Ventures in early 2021, helping shape strategy and LP formation for the fund's launch, and concurrently became Managing Director at MGI. He previously held roles at Mitsui & Co. overseeing private equity and leasing, was seconded as Principal to NovaQuest Capital Management, and worked in private equity real estate; he holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master's in Civil Engineering from Kyoto University.

Henry Sohn brings over 30 years of technology management and operating experience, advising high-growth companies. He worked at Apprente (a Morado AI company acquired by McDonald's), was an early product manager and later VP/GM at Yahoo!, and later returned to Yahoo! as Chief of Staff and VP of Business Management. He also held roles at Compaq, Berkeley Systems, Intuit, and Apple, and holds a B.A. from UC Berkeley.

Patrick is a Partner at E12 Ventures and Morado Ventures who helped shape the original E12 Venture model, working with the Mitsui team and Morado's network of Fortune 1000 corporate and private LPs. He has deep experience with corporate venture capital programs, previously advising firms such as DoCoMo Capital, Telefonica CVC and Best Buy, and earlier served as VP of Corporate Development at VeriFone.

Paulina supports E12 Ventures' investments in deep tech, frontier technologies, and industrial markets, with prior venture and angel investing experience at Bosch Ventures, How Women Invest, Blissity Ventures, GroundUp Ventures, and Zane VC. Before her VC career she worked in banking and consulting at State Street Bank, Euroclear Bank, Deutsche Bank, and Chatham Financial across Europe and the US, and holds Master's degrees in Finance and Disruptive Innovation plus an MBA.

Joined Mitsui Global Investment and E12 Ventures as a Principal in June 2024, focusing on early-stage climate and manufacturing technology investments and supporting corporate LP collaboration with startups. Previously spent over a decade at Mitsui & Co. across international trading, JV investments, and business development in consumer products and petrochemical/biochemical materials.

Principal at E12 Ventures supporting corporate LPs with a focus on fintech, digital health, and quantum computing. In a parallel role at Mitsui Global Investments he serves as a board observer for Pica8 and has been involved in direct investments including Rallybio, BioNova, and Ensem Therapeutics; previously an investment manager at Mitsui & Co. He holds an Economics degree from The University of Tokyo and the CFA designation.

Irene is an Investment Principal at E12 Ventures and Mitsui Global Investment with over 13 years in the venture space. She has been a founder, run an accelerator, and directed a San Francisco innovation hub working with startups, corporations, and universities, taking a data-driven, full-stack approach to investing.

Caroline helps source and evaluate deals at E12, focusing especially on digital health. She has been an investor at Mitsui Global Investment since 2010 and previously worked as a translator/interpreter at the NUMMI auto plant. She holds a BA in Japanese and Spanish from Stanford.
