Investment thesis
Consensys builds the software infrastructure powering the transition to decentralized finance on Ethereum. It describes a vertically integrated 'trustware finance stack' that turns user and application intent into onchain outcomes, spanning authorization, routing, execution, and settlement. Its products include MetaMask, a self-custodial consumer finance platform; MetaMask Developer tools for third-party builders; and Infura, API infrastructure that lets developers read and write to blockchain networks without running their own nodes. Founded by Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, Consensys has been a core contributor to Ethereum since before the genesis block, building and maintaining execution and consensus clients and contributing to protocol upgrades, with a mission to make finance more open and accessible.
