Investment thesis
Frachtis is a thesis-driven, crypto-native pre-seed fund that invests early in ambitious founders building in decentralized infrastructure, AI, middleware, and consumer applications. The firm combines deep blockchain infrastructure expertise, protocol-level technical review, execution-risk assessment, and hands-on operator experience scaling crypto companies. Frachtis backs high-conviction theses before they become obvious and supports founders globally through the earliest, most critical stages, connecting them with capital, talent, and strategic partners across major crypto ecosystems including Ethereum, Solana, Cosmos, and Avalanche. The fund believes autonomous machine actors will become central to crypto, with crypto serving as the settlement substrate for AI agents.

Xavier Meegan is the founder of Frachtis, a crypto-native pre-seed fund backing builders in decentralized infrastructure, AI, middleware, and consumer applications. He was previously Chief Investment Officer at Chorus One and Chorus Ventures, a large staking provider in the crypto ecosystem, and has made over 60 investments to date. He holds a Master's in Financial Technology focused on crypto and AI from MIP Politecnico di Milano, where he authored two academic papers, and has served as a peer reviewer for blockchain research from institutions including Wharton and the World Economic Forum.
Erwin (Torreao) Dassen is a cryptography expert who completed a PhD in mathematics and a post-doc in lattice-based cryptography. He has worked as a technical consultant for organizations including ASML, ESA, and TNO, and has held executive roles overseeing technical development and R&D. He was previously VP of Engineering at Plotwise and team lead at Chorus One, where he now serves as Head of Generative AI.
Adina Fischer is the founder of 182 West, a fractional operations firm serving crypto funds and Web3 infrastructure companies. She previously spent 2.5 years at a16z Crypto managing $3 billion in assets across custody, staking, governance, and trading infrastructure, where she managed over 30 token launches and developed the Operational Guidelines for Token Launches framework. Fischer brings experience from traditional finance roles at Barclays, BTG Capital, and Wells Fargo.
Brian Fabian Crain is CEO of Chorus One and President at the Interchain Foundation, and hosts the crypto podcast Epicenter. He founded the Blockchain Meetup Berlin community in 2014 and helped build Chorus One into a widely used staking provider. He also serves on the board of the Urbit Foundation.
