Abies Ventures believes solving the world's deep structural problems—energy demand, climate change, environmental degradation, labor shortages, and information security—requires global-scale startups built on deep tech, not just IT. It argues data science accelerates discontinuous deep tech innovation across robotics, mobility, high-performance computing, telecom, new materials, climate tech, and space. The firm sees Japan, a technologically advanced nation, as rich in untapped deep tech assets and large corporate partners, making it fertile ground for deep tech startups. Staffed by experienced operators who have built companies themselves, Abies supports founders—especially first-timers—with knowledge and networks spanning domestic and international corporations, conglomerates, government financial institutions, and investors.
