Jane Mooney came into robotics from accounting, and that is exactly why Collaborative Robotics can prove its robots pay for themselves. She co-founded the company in 2022 with Brad Porter and Steph Tryphonas and is its VP of Strategy and Finance; it has since raised more than $140 million, including a $100 million Series B led by General Catalyst, and put its Proxie robot into production with paying customers rather than pilots — logging over 12,600 operating hours, moving more than 40 million pounds of material and saving some 17 million steps of human walking across hospitals, factories and warehouses. Before Cobot she spent her career at Amazon, most recently as Director of Robotics Strategy and Risk Management, setting the roadmap for the largest robot fleet on earth, and she led the fulfilment supply-chain team through Amazon's pandemic buildout. She studied accounting and business at the University of Washington.
