Apoorva Mehta founded Instacart in 2012 after twenty failed startup ideas, got into Y Combinator late by delivering a six-pack of beer to a partner, and built it into the dominant US grocery-delivery platform, which went public in 2023. A former Amazon supply-chain engineer, he stepped down as CEO in 2021 and now runs the healthcare company Cloud Health Systems.
